FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about uptime monitoring, SMS alerts, webhooks, and plans. See the full documentation for detailed guides.

How quickly will I know if my website is down?

On Pro and Premium, Upscanr checks every 5 minutes and retries every 1 minute during an incident. You typically receive an alert within 1–2 minutes of confirmed downtime. On Free, checks run every 15 minutes with the same 1-minute retry cadence.

Does Upscanr support SMS alerts?

Yes. SMS alerts are delivered as standard text messages from Upscanr — no app or push notification settings required. All plans including Free include SMS credits (Free: 3/month, Pro: 20/month, Premium: 100/month).

Which countries are supported for SMS alerts?

Norway, Sweden, Denmark, United Kingdom, Germany, Netherlands, France, and Belgium. US and Canada require carrier registration and are coming soon.

Can I receive SMS alerts from PowerAutomate, Azure Monitor, or Zapier?

Yes. SMS webhooks give you a unique URL you can call from any service that supports HTTP requests. A GET or POST request to the URL sends an SMS to your configured number. This works with PowerAutomate, Azure Monitor, Grafana, Zapier, and custom scripts.

What is keyword monitoring?

Keyword monitoring checks the content of your page, not just whether the server responds. You can alert when a keyword is missing — for example, confirmation text on a checkout page — or when a keyword appears, such as an error message or maintenance banner.

Is there a free plan?

Yes. The Free plan includes 3 monitors, 15-minute checks, 1 alert recipient, 3 SMS credits per month, and 100 alert emails per month. No credit card required.

What is an SMS webhook?

An SMS webhook is a unique URL tied to your account. When any system sends an HTTP request to that URL, Upscanr forwards the alert as an SMS to your configured phone number. This lets you receive SMS alerts from any monitoring tool, CI/CD pipeline, or business system that can make HTTP requests.

Can I monitor pages behind a login?

No. Upscanr monitors publicly accessible URLs via HTTP GET. Pages that require authentication, VPN access, or IP allowlisting cannot be checked.

How does the retry logic work?

When a check fails, Upscanr retries every 1 minute for the first 5 minutes to filter out transient blips. If the monitor is still down after the first retry, an alert is sent. After 5 minutes, retries continue every 5 minutes until recovery. A recovery alert is sent when the next check passes.

What is the difference between Pro and Premium?

Pro is for individual owners who want 5-minute checks and SMS alerts: 10 monitors, 1 recipient, 20 SMS credits, 1,000 emails per month. Premium adds team support: 50 monitors, up to 10 alert recipients across SMS and email, 100 SMS credits, and 5,000 emails per month.

What happens to my monitors if I downgrade?

Existing monitors continue to run. You cannot add new monitors beyond your plan cap, and interval and recipient settings that exceed the new plan limits take effect on the next save.

How are SMS credits counted?

Each SMS message sent — whether from a monitor alert or a webhook trigger — uses one credit from your monthly allowance. Credits reset at the start of each billing period and do not roll over.
